Project G.R.A.B.

Arise! Awake from your embryonic slumber and begin your journey through the backrooms of the Smoke Box. Will you rise the ranks to become the next official mascot, or find an alternate path?

Project G.R.A.B. was created for the 2024 Robot Party Game Jam by Ionwhat, littlekittenbit, punkrockglock, RagnaroksEdge, Amazeovision, Shuckelll, and MayorMcFrumples. Full credits are listed below.

This game requires a controller to play. 

Each joystick controls its corresponding hand (left joystick to left hand), and the bumpers will make that hand slap/grab or push, depending on the level. Start button pauses the game. In the Pause menu, clicking Enter on your keyboard will reset the game.

We hope you enjoy our weird ass game. Please report any bugs and we'll stamp 'em out!

TIPS AND TRICKS

• Clicking LB or RB once is enough to grab something if your aim is on point. Clicking and holding will make you drag.
• Use your shadow to determine where you will grab.
• It helps to role play!
• Did you miss a secret objective? Don't worry! You only need to achieve one to unlock the path to the second ending in Level 9 (the meeting). You'll know if you're on the right path if Franky reaches out to you on that level.
• Level 2: use the button on the right to change shelves.
• Level 5: Be sure to read the whole ticket when completing an order, including the amount of each ingredient and whether or not it requires mayo.
• Level 7: You cannot drag boxes, however, an emptied box will discard itself if it's closed. Close a box by clicking its icon close or opening another box icon.
• Level 8: be careful about button mashing! Smashing both punch and fireball buttons at once does nothing.
• Level 9: Be sure to read the slide elements before deciding which ones to highlight!

FINALLY... THE CHEATS

• On the title screen you can type 1-9 to choose level 1-9. 
• "A" will start the CEO ending, "B" will start the Rebel ending. "C" goes straight to Credits.
• + will add 15 seconds to any timed level.
• Sandwich level (5): you don't actually need bread.
• Arcade level (8): PgUp will auto defeat Scratch.
• Meeting level (9): PgUp and PgDown make the stock rise or fall. Backspace will give you a "rebel objective point," which you need at least one of to trigger the final, secret slide. Home will make an executive jump for joy. 

BUILD UPDATES

08-21 Bug fixes - softlock on Level 01 addressed

08-23 Bug fixes - there was a bug in the Arcade level in which if you try to grab the envelope too soon it would continue to slip around and you wouldn't be able to pick it up.
